Fiano di Avelino

High altitude vineyards

Appple, pear, lemon, herbs

Clean, citrus, fresh acidity. Great balance superb wine.

Long mineral finish.

At $24.00 it might seem like a big investment for a Fiano but it disserves every single penny as well as every one of the Tre Bicchieri that was awarded.

 

 

Casamatta

Toscana IGT 2008

Rosso, by Bibi Graetz

 

100% Sangiovese,

Dark purple intense color

Plum, Cassis, Black Currant

Darker notes, forest brush.

Medium body, bright fruit on the palate, cherries, unripe plum, noticeable wood tannins.

Well made, great bargain for $10.00

 

 

Masserie Pisari

Salento Rosso IGT 2007

Negroamaro

 

Dark intense garnet color

Mature fruit on the nose,

Black cherries

Medium body, soft round typical negroamoro.

Ok for the price, nothing impressive. Under $12.00

Very sure will develop and open up more with time.

Only made on better vintages with a total production of less than 500 cases.

Dark purple intense color

Dark berry (cassis, black berries), coffee, vanilla,

Full body, great fruit on the palate, soft tannins,

Great, Great, Great!!!
